Antique and heirloom gardeners are invited to
display, give samples, lecture, and/or sell some of the fruits and
flowers of their labors at Garfield Farm Museum's 17th Annual Heirloom
Garden Show on August 27th from 11 am to 4 pm.
The Annual Garden Show encompasses all
varieties of old-fashioned vegetables, fruits and antique
flowers. Gardeners from backyard enthusiasts to large producers
of heirloom fruits and vegetables are welcome to and encouraged to come
and show their special plants. Members of the Seed Savers Exchange will
have displays, samples, lectures and sales. The show has enjoyed
much popularity in previous years, drawing anywhere from five hundred
to one thousand visitors depending upon weather conditions and
publicity.
Garfield Farm Museum is located 5 miles west of
Geneva, IL, off of Illinois Rt. 38 on Garfield Road. Garfield Farm is a
former historically intact 1840s prairie farmstead and teamster inn
that is being restored as a working 1840s farm. Interested
