Garfield Farm Museum to Offer Felting Workshop March 21

Garfield Farm is offering a Felting Workshop on Saturday, March 21 from 10:00 am-2:30 pm. The workshop combines a traditional craft with its contemporary version to make your own miniature art work. The class will cost a $26 fee, and $14 for a needle felting kit. Lunch is provided. Reservations are required as the class size is limited.

Learn traditional hot water felting to make pieces for a small botanical picture, and then assemble the pieces using contemporary needle felting. A palette of 100% wool yarns and fleeces are used to make a 3 x 3 floral or leaf art piece. The course will be taught by Garfield Farm's prairie tour guide and Mineral Point gallery Prairie Oak Artisans owner Karma Grotelueschen.

Garfield Farm Museum is located 5 miles west of Geneva, IL off ILL Rt. 38 on Garfield Road. The 370-acre site is a historically intact former 1840s farm and teamster inn being restored as an 1840s working farm museum by volunteers and donors from around the country. For additional information
